Chief Executive Officer | Masters Care

At Masters Care, we believe that the future of waste management lies in how effectively we can transform waste from an environmental challenge into a valuable resource.

Across Africa, growing urban populations, increasing waste volumes and rising demand for energy are creating a clear need for infrastructure that is more integrated, efficient and sustainable. Addressing these challenges requires more than traditional waste management. It requires innovation, accountability and a long-term approach to infrastructure development.

This is the space in which Masters Care operates.

We focus on developing waste-to-energy and resource recovery projects that bring together technology, infrastructure, investment and strategic partnerships. Our role is to identify opportunities, structure projects and coordinate the capabilities required to progress complex developments from concept through to implementation.

01

Innovation

Innovation is central to how we think and operate. We believe Africa requires solutions that are not only technologically advanced, but also relevant to the realities of the markets and communities in which they are implemented.

We seek to incorporate appropriate technologies, progressive development models and strategic partnerships that enable waste to be converted into energy, recovered materials and economic value.

02

Accountability

Accountability defines how we approach our responsibilities.

We recognise that major infrastructure projects have long-term implications for governments, communities, investors, partners and the environment. We therefore place strong emphasis on responsible project development, transparency, professional standards and measurable outcomes.

Partnership-driven infrastructure development.

Masters Care understands that transformative infrastructure cannot be developed in isolation. Successful projects require the alignment of municipalities, government institutions, technology providers, engineering and construction partners, investors, operators, environmental specialists and other stakeholders.

We therefore operate through a partnership-driven model, bringing together the right expertise and capabilities around each project to create solutions that are technically sound, commercially viable and environmentally responsible.

Our work extends beyond waste-to-energy. Through resource recovery initiatives, including the processing of recovered plastics into recycled pellets, we are contributing to a more circular economy in which valuable materials are recovered, transformed and returned to productive use.

As we continue to develop our portfolio, our focus remains firmly on creating infrastructure with purpose projects that respond to Africa's environmental and energy challenges while contributing to economic development and long-term sustainability.

At Masters Care, we do not simply develop waste projects. We develop solutions that turn waste into energy, resources and lasting value.

Powering a Sustainable Future Through Innovative Energy Development

Masters Care is committed to developing innovative energy solutions that transform waste and underutilised resources into valuable energy products.

Through our project development capabilities and strategic partnerships, we identify, structure and advance energy projects that support sustainable infrastructure, resource recovery and long-term economic value.

Our portfolio encompasses a range of waste-to-energy and alternative energy technologies, including incineration, pyrolysis, gasification, biogas production, landfill gas recovery and biomass energy.

We work with technology providers, engineering partners, investors, municipalities and other stakeholders to develop projects that are aligned with specific feedstock characteristics, energy requirements, environmental considerations and commercial objectives.

Our approach is centred on selecting appropriate technologies, integrating complementary systems and developing solutions that contribute to improved waste management, energy diversification and a more sustainable resource economy.

Incineration and energy recovery

01

Incineration & Energy Recovery

The controlled thermal treatment of non-recyclable waste at high temperatures, with the resulting heat used to generate steam and electricity.

Incineration can provide a reliable waste treatment solution while significantly reducing the volume of waste requiring final disposal.

Pyrolysis waste conversion

02

Pyrolysis

A thermal conversion process in which organic or carbon-based materials are heated in a controlled environment with little or no oxygen.

Depending on the feedstock and technology, pyrolysis can produce products such as syngas, pyrolysis oil and char, which may have applications as energy products or industrial feedstocks.

Masters Care explores pyrolysis applications for suitable waste streams, including selected plastics, tyres, biomass and other carbon-rich materials.

Gasification technology

03

Gasification

Gasification converts suitable carbon-based feedstocks into a combustible gas known as syngas through high-temperature conversion with a controlled amount of oxygen or steam.

The resulting syngas can be used for heat and power generation or, where appropriate, further processing into other energy or chemical products.

Anaerobic digestion and biogas

04

Anaerobic Digestion & Biogas

Anaerobic digestion uses microorganisms to break down biodegradable organic material in the absence of oxygen.

The process produces biogas, primarily consisting of methane and carbon dioxide, which can be used to generate electricity and heat or upgraded into biomethane where technically and commercially appropriate.

Landfill gas recovery

05

Landfill Gas Recovery

Organic waste deposited in landfills naturally decomposes and generates methane-rich landfill gas.

Masters Care engages in landfill gas recovery solutions that capture this gas and utilise it for energy generation, while supporting improved landfill management and reducing uncontrolled methane emissions.

Biomass energy

06

Biomass Energy

Biomass energy utilises organic materials such as agricultural residues, forestry waste and other sustainably sourced biomass as an energy feedstock.

Through appropriate combustion, gasification or other conversion technologies, biomass can be transformed into heat and electricity.

No single technology is suitable for every waste stream.

Masters Care therefore evaluates each opportunity according to its feedstock characteristics, energy potential, environmental requirements, available infrastructure, technology maturity, capital requirements and commercial viability.

Our objective is to develop integrated energy solutions that maximise resource recovery, minimise waste to landfill and create reliable sources of energy from materials that would otherwise be discarded.

Developing practical energy infrastructure with purpose.

From large-scale waste-to-energy facilities to innovative resource recovery systems, Masters Care explores opportunities across the energy value chain. We aim to support the development of infrastructure that delivers practical energy solutions while creating environmental, social and economic value.

Plastic Conversion & Resource Recovery

Masters Care supports the recovery and conversion of post-consumer and post-industrial plastics into valuable secondary raw materials.

Through a structured process of collection, sorting, shredding, washing drying and pelletisation, suitable plastic waste can be transformed into recycled plastic pellets that can be reintroduced into manufacturing processes.

Our focus includes materials such as LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE and PP, subject to feedstock quality and application requirements.

By diverting suitable plastics from landfill and returning them to productive use, Masters Care contributes to a more circular plastics economy while creating opportunities for resource recovery, local processing and sustainable industrial value creation.

Plastic shredding and size reduction

01

Plastic Shredding & Size Reduction

Where necessary, larger plastic items, bulky components and materials such as HDPE pipes are mechanically reduced into smaller, manageable pieces. This prepares the material for efficient handling and further stages of the recycling process.

Plastic granulation and flake production

02

Granulation & Flake Production

Suitable plastic waste and production off-cuts are processed through granulation to produce flakes of a more consistent size. Creating a uniform material stream helps prepare the plastic for subsequent processing and reprocessing.

Plastic melting filtration and refinement

03

Melting, Filtration & Refinement

The processed plastic is introduced into an extrusion system where it is melted and passed through filtration stages to remove remaining contaminants and unwanted particles. The material is then refined to achieve a more consistent feedstock for pelletisation.

Recycled plastic pellet production

04

Recycled Pellet Production

Once processed and refined, the material is formed into recycled plastic pellets. These pellets provide a convenient and consistent secondary raw material that can be supplied for use across suitable manufacturing and conversion applications.

Every Material Stream Matters. Every Batch Is Processed With Purpose.

For industrial recycling, consistency is critical. Recycled materials must perform reliably within the manufacturing environments in which they are used. Variations in feedstock quality, contamination or material characteristics can affect processing conditions, product performance and overall production efficiency.

At Masters Care, our recycling approach is centred on controlled processing, material segregation and quality-focused handling. We work to minimise variability throughout the recycling process, from the initial sorting and preparation of incoming material through to processing and pelletisation.

By applying structured processing practices and appropriate quality checks, we aim to produce recycled plastic feedstocks with characteristics that are suitable for their intended applications.

Our objective is not simply to divert plastic from disposal. It is to recover its material value and return it to the manufacturing cycle as a usable secondary resource.

Industrial plastic recovery

From Plastic Waste to Manufacturing Feedstock.

Masters Care works with manufacturers and businesses to provide structured plastic recovery and recycling solutions aligned with their ongoing operational requirements.

Our services can support both on-site and off-site plastic waste management, helping businesses recover value from production waste while maintaining efficient material handling and responsible recycling practices.

We aim to build long-term partnerships rather than provide once-off waste solutions working with clients to understand their material streams, processing requirements and recovery objectives, and developing recycling programmes that can grow alongside their operations.

Masters Care is developing resource recovery solutions that support a more circular plastics economy keeping valuable materials in productive use for longer.
